How to Use Self Tanning Mists

The Beauty and Convenience of Self Tan Aerosol Cans

Want that perfect faux glow without the streaks and patches? You’re in luck. The secret to a flawless, airbrushed tan at home is using a Self Tan Bronzing Mist.

Using a mist format for self tanning can prevent a streaky or splotchy tan. The best part is how quick and convenient the application process is! What are self tan mists and how do you use them? Keep reading for the total run down.

What Do Self Tanning Mists Do?

A self tanning mist allows you to get the look of a flawless spray tan, but from the comfort of your home. Think of a self tanning mist as a DIY spray tan. The super fine mist applies evenly, dries quickly and is easy to apply to those hard to reach places. The 360 degree nozzle provides continuous coverage, creating a completely natural looking tan. Just blend with an Application Mitt for extra assurance.

Self Tan Mist vs. Self Tan Lotion

When it comes to different forms of tanning, you may be wondering if you should reach for a self tan mist or a self tan lotion. While both are going to give that faux glow, picking which to use is dependent upon your needs. A self tanning mist will give an instantly bronzed complexion and is super easy to use because of the quick, wide-angled jet applicator. A tanning lotion, on the other hand, will provide a more natural look rather than a golden bronze, and will require a bit more time to blend out into the skin. A self tan mousse will also take more time than a self tan mist, so if time is the most important factor, we recommend the mist format. If you’re a business that offers self tan retail, we highly recommend offering a self tan mist so that customers who prefer quick self tanning have the option.

How To Use Self Tanning Mists

Step 1: Skin Prep

Cleanse your skin to remove dirt and oils, and then follow up with an exfoliant. Exfoliating is a key prep step before any tanning routine to ensure you have removed all the dead skin cells on the surface of your skin. It’s also important to moisturize a couple days before self tanning so that the sunless tan doesn’t cling to dry patches. Before self tanning, moisturize areas of skin that are typically more dry like elbows and knees, so that your tan doesn’t grip onto those areas.

Step 2: Application

Hold the nozzle approximately six inches from your skin and spray it all over. Private label has an amazing Self Tan Bronzing Mist with an ultra fine 360 degree spray, making it perfect for those hard to reach places. Use the mist sparingly around areas that will absorb more product such as your hands and feet. Blend away any overspray on skin with our Application Mitt using long, sweeping circular motions and voilà, a perfect streak free tan!

Step 3: Waiting Game & Aftercare

Make sure your tan is completely dry before getting dressed. Leave your tan mist on for up to 8 hours depending on how dark you want to go. Then, rinse in lukewarm water for 45 seconds. Do not use soaps or scrubs. Your tan will continue to develop over the next 8 hours.

Moisturizer should be your best friend in any tanning routine. Locking moisture into the skin creates even colored results and a longer lasting tan. With proper care and maintenance your self tan bronze can last up to a week. Use a moisturizer or Gradual Tan Mousse daily to prolong and maintain your golden tan.
